I'm not sure if you guys have been following this or heard of this at all, but there are some really intense and interesting protests going on in the interior of Argentina, where I am. Basically the farmers here, producers of practically all of the country's wheat and meat, are protesting tax rises on exports. Farmers all over the country are taking their tractors and blocking much of the country's roads. In fact, on our way to Puerto Iguazú, our bus was stopped several times for hours as we waited for them to let us by. Last night protests erupted in Córdoba when the government refused to negotiate. I could hear it outside my apartment...people were banging pots and pans and dozens of farmers left their tractors on the road right around the corner from my apartment at La Plaza España. Argentines are getting extremely angry and worried that stores in Córdoba won't have meat or dairy products for weeks.
