veinte uno...POR FIN!

Yay!!!

April 6th, 2008 will go down in my little personal history as being quite an event.

We threw a fiesta at our apartment for my big 2-1. Like I said before, it's pretty much required that if you throw a party, you invite all the intercambios (study abroad students) and they bring friends, and they bring friends, and last year's intercambios show up, and the landlord and this guy and that guy...it was crazy. I would estimate there were about 100 people here! Here's a photo that does not do justice how packed our terraza was.

Here are some of my friends toasting me at midnight! And the cake Abby lovingly bought for me. And a picture of Laura (from Spain) and me. (I plan to post more pix later.)

Needless to say, I got pretty drunk. You can probably tell in the above photo. People kept handing my fernet, wine, champagne, rum...after a while I switched to agua. But pretty much everyone was borracho, like ya do.

At around 2:30, the crowd dispered to different boliches all over Cordoba. A few friends and I went to one around the corner called La Osa. We stayed out all night, and I went to bed at 8:00 a.m.!

When I woke up four hours later, the house was a QUILOMBO. I have never in my life seen so many empty liquor bottles (no, San Francisco roommates, not even after our Christmas party). There were footprints, gum, spilled cake, plastic cups mountains...it was pretty crazy. So my roomates, Sergio and Uli, and Sergio's girlfriend and my friend Fer spent the next three hours cleaning up the whole apartment. It was kinda fun. It was a good way to clear my head, if you know what I mean. After our clean up extravaganza, we all sat down to eat leftover cake and drink cold beers. What a day.

The rest of it was spent stumbling around, if you know what I mean.

On a final note, THANK YOU to all of you who sent me happy birthday E-cards, Facebook messages and e-mails. It means so much to me. I love all your support! I can't wait until I'm back in the states and this age actually MEANS something.

Love to all.
