First thing's first...I just got back from
hacer parapente--PARAGLIDING!

There are my feet! (Wearing the instructors sneakers because I forgot to bring mine).
Since today is a memorial day for those who died in the 1982 conflict of the Falkland Islands (Guerra de las Malvinas), we had no classes. So Abby (from Rhode Island), Gabriela (from Monterrey, Mexico) and I decided to get up early and spend the day in La Cumbre, a little pueblo in the hills of Cordoba 2.5 hours away. La Cumbre is famous for spectacular views, a bunch of paragliding companies and frequent paragliding championships. Perfect!
IT WAS AMAZING. Mom, aren't you glad you're just now finding out about this and not right before? (Last year went I went skydiving I made the mistake of telling Mom and Dad the morning of. Mom apparently didn't blink all day worrying about me). Pablo was my instructor/guide. He was awesome. It was definitely kind of scary listening to his instructions in Spanish...I was like, god I hope I'm not totally misunderstanding him. It's okay, I was golden. We did have some trouble getting off the cliff because of wind (we actually tried twice and I took two semi-scary tumbles) but then we were off and it was fan-freaking-tastic. Here are pictures from up in the air.

Unfortunately Abby and Gabriela couldn't end up going because the wind was too finnicky. So I felt bad I got to experience flying and couldn't share the adrenaline with them! They'll go back though.
So wow. Did I mention I just went paragliding?? Wowzahs.
Next piece of news not as exciting but still kind of cool: last night I went with some other study abroad students to the UCC campus to play soccer with the UCC girl's soccer team. Well, it turns out it's not really a team, it's just a bunch of girls kicking the ball around. But it was still great to get out there and play soccer...I haven't played in forever. The girls are extremely nice.
Then there was a rad party at a boliche (nightclub) for a girl's birthday in our program. It is so funny; whenever someone throws a party, it's common courtesy to email the study abroad department, who mails that email out to everyone else and everyone--all 60 or 70 of us--show up. Including the study abroad coordinators who are all older than us and are kind of like our mentors. They are there...totally wasted. The party was a blast. I danced from midnight until 5. I feel so Argentine.
Remember when I went paragliding?
