Apple, The Big

In NYC! My last vacation within the U.S. before heading off to a whole new city, country, continent.

It's been awesome so far. Meg, Karin and I are staying in Bill and Deidre's amazing apartment on the Upper West Side (huge thanks to them). I saw Spring Awakening last night with Cuz Lauren and Tommy (SOOO GOOOOOD) and today I spent a few hours at the Museum of Television and Radio, which I loved, and I'm totally going back tomorrow. I was by myself in this huge theatre watching a movie about the history of stand-up comedy. There I was, alone, boots and coat off, sprawled across the seats, laughing out loud the whole time. Then I spent an hour watching old Nickelodeon shows that I grew up with. It was fantastic. A Media Studies major's dream come true. Then I met up with some USF friends later, and just got back from a wine bar with Meg, Lauren and Karin.

Um, also, I think here is a good time to mention the famous Forgotten Movie Game, which the cousins made up and which the cousins play constantly. Rules: name a movie you have not thought about since you've seen it. Examples: Ghost Dad, The Air Up There, and Andre. Classifying a forgotten movie is a very thin and tricky line. The film cannot be played on USA or TNT. Ever. It usually does not have a famous person in it. There are no sequels...it cannot be immortal in any sense of the word. It literally has to be a movie whose name you have not uttered since you sold the VHS at a garage sale. For us, it usually is a movie released between the time period of late 80s to late 90s. Some other gems: Jungle 2 Jungle, Corinna Corinna, Dunston Checks In, Baby's Day Off, Blank Check, Man of the House, Operation Dumbo Drop.

That's it. That's what we do when we're together. Also, let me know if you have any forgotten movies. It's a rad game.
